SBCC 2010: Small to Great

SBCC 2010: Small to Great

Small But Cute,” that’s how SBC pioneers jokingly called themselves back in the yesteryears. Sure, SBC started out as a small student center  in a small piece of rented property in the University Belt area, but I think what they meant back then was a little bit more literal: They were all small in height.

I hate to name names (sorry Titos and Titas), but just to prove a point — think Pastor Bob Sanchez and Ate Norma Sanchez, Tito Rolly Refuerzo, Tita Beth Miana, Tito Abe Navarette, Tito Eg Fornoles — all of them barely reaching the vicinity of 5’4. Yeah? Small But Cute, alright.

37 years down the line, SBCC membership expanded to various age groups and demographics, not any more contained within the 5’4 height limit. It wasn’t long ago when God brought us out of the old rented place in Lerma to our very own property in Lacson, the culmination of three decades of prayers, leaps of faith, and waiting patiently on God.

And now that we have settled in, the expansion begins. And this doesn’t only mean expanding our property. Mostly, this means expanding our territories, reaching new borders, winning more souls, preaching to multitudes.

If you’re a newcomer to SBCC, you came at a very opportune time, God brought you here for a purpose and we’re excited to embark on this new journey with you. If you’re an old member who’s witnessed how God has patiently molded and taken our church to where we are now, now is a time of profound awakening! God is taking SBCC to this massive, higher level of worship, and trust me when I say you don’t want to be left behind. You want to be part of this awesome adventure!

“Like a mustard seed planted on the ground, it’s the smallest of all seeds but it becomes the largest of all plants.” SBCC may still be Small But Cute in height, but this year, we will turn from Small to Great in our journey with God. You don’t want to miss out on this one!
